Massage therapists will need to obtain the client's informed consent for the massage plan prior to beginning the massage therapy session and complete accurate and legible client intake notes. Massage therapists will need to perform 50 minute (up to 120 minute if capable) quality massage therapy sessions within their scope of training and utilize draping protocols. Qualified massage therapists will create an excellent experience for guests and members through a present therapeutic touch and friendly attitude, promote the health and wellness benefits of massage therapy specific to each client and recommend frequent massage, and promote additional business through the guest pass program. Massage therapists must safeguard client information and confidentiality and execute professional boundaries. Therapists must not engage in dual relationships with clients. Therapists must maintain a professional, clean appearance of self and the clinic by wearing a clean and pressed uniform, following the table dressing and draping protocols, and keeping the therapy room clean. Massage therapists are responsible to renew their massage therapy license as dictated by the county/city/state regulation and actively seek out continuing education to improve their effectiveness. Therapists are also responsible to attend all scheduled shifts (or ensure they have an approved substitute), be prompt to work, and work their entire shift.
